About

The life-cycle of a doodle

I'm a graphic designer and surface pattern / textile designer. My doodles start out in notebooks, done during spare moments in random places: lockdown social-distancing queues, between zoom meetups, in bed at night just before I go to sleep.
Afterwards I scan the doodle, import it into Illustrator where I do a line trace and convert the file to vector. Then comes the best part - colouring in the doodle digitally with Photoshop, or printing it out and using pencil crayons or markers.

A doodle starts in a notebook:

It's converted to line digitally. . .

. . . and coloured in.
